PROJECT
Do you think that it could be possible for blind and visually impaired
people to have access to the world of art, appreciate the beauty of a
sculpture or catch the message that is inside the work of art? Can blind
and visually impaired people feel any emotion through the tactile exploration?
Can blind and visually impaired people transfer the message of art to an audience,
becoming a cultural guide?
The project Access to Art, Right not Privilege - co-funded by the Joint Actions Programme - aims at creating preconditions for improving access of the young people with visual disabilities to the works of art and monuments of culture and to promote the complete integration into society encouraging lifelong access to formal, non-formal and informal education and training for them.
The specific aims of the project are:
- To organize training courses addressed to blind and visually impaired people with the aim to give them the possibility to improve their professional skills in order to become cultural guides.
- To provide visitors of modern and classic art museums and exhibition, art lovers and citizens of the involved territories with a new understanding of the modern and classic art from the blind and visually impaired people "point of view".
