11-12 September 2006 - Final meeting in Badajoz, Spain

The final meeting of the "Access to Art, Right not Privilege!" project was organised by the Spanish partner Fundecyt.

On the 11^th of September the meeting started with a public conference hinged on the crucial topic of “access”. The “access to tourism” – a topic already discussed in the project forum – was raised by Mr Jesús Gumiel with reference to the accessibility area promoted by the APAMEX association. Then, the “access to employment” was presented by Ms Manuela Calvo Riballo with reference to the specific Spanish legislation (as a European best practice see a previous project led by the Rehabilitation for the Blind Foundation called O.B.V.I.O.U.S.). Bulgarian and Italian ModelsFinally, the discussion of the Digital Literacy and Open Software Plan of Extremadura allowed to emphasise the high level of accessibility reached by the "Access to Art, Right not Privilege!" project.

On the 12^th of September the Rehabilitation for the Blind Foundation presented the results of the learning experimentation mentioning the possible approaches for the organisation of the courses and the method to exploit the learning materials.Project partners working

Finally, Camera Work presented the very successful solution of the “Darkness Dinner”, that allows to promote the concept of the project making the participants physically experiment the personal situation of the blind. The next dinner is established for October, 11. The project co-ordinator Ms Alexandrina Kostova has promised to take part at this event.
