Dear Giacomo, Darkness dinners are a significant cultural and social phenomenon in Italy nowadays.
The basic point is that the dinner happens in the complete darkness and that the waiters are blind people - the only ones who can work in that situation of total lack of light.
This formula allows to enhance the capacity of the other senses to perceive the peculiar features of the dishes - and of the bevarages, normally wine!
Furthermore, the darkness makes the relationships between the guests more intense for one night. They could me more authentic, or even more difficult. In any case, they are different. A new relational potential can arise in this unusual situation.
Finally, the darkness dinners are an opportunity of work for the blind people and a mean to make the issues of the visual handicap more known in the society.
Last but not least .. the dinner of Jesi of this night is overbooked! Therefore it is not possible for us to invite you, but please continue to follow our news, we hope to have the chance to organise a second darkness dinner during the next months!
regards, Pietro
